Why Confession?
From the Catechism:
"Those who approach the sacrament of Penance obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity, by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion." - paragraph 1422
What is Rorate Caeli?
Rorate Caeli is Latin for “Drop down, ye heavens” and is a Mass traditionally during Advent. It is a votive Mass for the Blessed Virgin Mary and encourages us to reflect on the coming Jesus into a world of darkness. During Advent we prepare for the coming of the Light of the World who will save us from eternal sin and shadows.
In this Mass, there are lots of candles, a reflective tone, and it works with the beauty of creation by being prayed at dawn. While praying for light to come, we see a sunrise reminding us of God's promises.
